* Arrange for a neighbor to drop into your apartment now and then. Windows and curtains being worked mean that the home is occupied.
* If you live in a rented home notify the owner that the apartment will be empty. Your landlord may want to keep tabs on the home.
* If you have installed a security system make it a point to see that the housesitter recognises how it is to be run.
* See that the neighbor or house sitter can contact you. The person keeping an eye on the house must be aware of who they should intimate should there be a problem.
