If you commonly switch on tv at 9 and have it on till bedtime set your timer to that schedule. Though the lights may be on the absence of the tv may lead to suspiscion that the house is uninhabited. * Get a neighbor to visit your apartment on a regular basis. Windows and curtains being opened and closed indicate that the house is inhabited. * If you rent a home maybe you can tell the landlord that the house will be unoccupied. Your houseowner may want to check up on it regularly. * If you have an alarm system active see that the home sitter is familiar with how to make it work. * Make sure you leave your contact details with the house sitter. Whoever is keeping tabs on the apartment must know who they should notify should any problems come up.
