Doors and windows being opened are all signs that the house is occupied. * If you rent the apartment or house let the landlord know that you are going on vacation. Your landlord may want to check up on it regularly. * If you have a security system installed ensure that the homesitter is comfortable with how to operate it. * See to it that you leave your contact details with the neighbor. The person watching over the house must be aware of who they should contact if any issue should come up.
