* If you live in a rented apartment you may want to notify your landlord that you are going on vacation. The homeowner may want to check on it.
* If you use any kind of security system make sure the house sitter is aware of how to use it.
* Make it a point to see that the neighbor or house sitter can contact you. The person watching over the house must be aware of who they should fill in should any problems come up.
