* If you stay at a rented home notify the owner that the apartment or home will be empty. The owner may want to keep tabs on the apartment.
* If you have a burglar alarm installed see that the housesitter recognizes how to handle it.
* Make certain that the caretaker or house sitter can contact you. The person checking up on the apartment must be aware of who is to be informed should a problem arise.
