Home: Simon 3 Security Systems
The lowdown on simon 3 security systemsIs your apartment or home to be unoccupied for a few days while you take a vacation? That is the time your apartment or home is most susceptible to looters. Here is what to stop break ins. * The best defense for your home is to have someone stay at your apartment. Having someone stay at home is normally safer than a home that is not occupied. Try arranging for a relative or friend to live at your house when you are traveling. * Temporarily halt newspaper delivery and mail delivery when you travel out of town. Mail spilling out of the mailbox lets passersby know that nobody is home. * If you maintain a garden ask someone to maintain them. Or ensure that the potted plants are kept out of sight. Plants wilting from lack of water tell potential burglars that the home is untenanted. * It is a good idea to use timers on lights and tv. Use light timers in more than one room. Use a natural looking sequence for lights. For example turn on the living room lights at sunset. When you normally hit the sack living room should turn dark and the bedroom lights should switch on. If you on the tv set at 7 pm most days and it remains on till 11 pm set your timer to that schedule. The lights in the house may be on but the absence of the bluish tv glow can give away that no one is actually home. * Ask a neighbor to drop into your apartment or home often. Windows being open now and then mean that the house is inhabited. * If you stay in a rented apartment perhaps you can let the owner or landlord know that you are going on vacation. Your landlord may want to check up on it regularly. * If you have an alarm system installed ensure that the the person who is doing the house sitting recognises how it is to be run. * Make it a point to see that you leave your contact details with the house sitter. Whoever is checking on the home should be aware of who should be informed should there be a problem.
