Report on sierra home security system

Is your house going to be unoccupied for more than a day or two while you go on tour? That is when the home usually is vulnerable to burglaries and housebreaks. Here is a bunch of things you might want to do.

* The best solution is to arrange for a house sitter. Having someone stay at home is almost always safer than an empty house. Make arrangements for a friend to stay at home at least during the nights while you go on vacation.

* Discontinue your mail and newspaper while you are away. A mailbox that is overflowing or piles of newspaper publicises that your home is empty.

* If you keep a garden arrange for them to be watered and kept well. Alternatively move the potted plants out of sight. Plants dying from lack of care tell the observer that the home or apartment is unoccupied.

* Use timers for tv and lights. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. Set the timings of the lights so it looks as if someone is home. The timer should switch on the living room lights at dusk. Afterwards turn off the living room lights and turn on the bedroom lights.

If you usually switch tv on at 8 and it stays on till bed time have your timer do the same. Though the lights are on the absence of the tv glow can give a clue that the house is empty.

* Get a neighbor to come in to your apartment on a regular basis. Curtains and windows being opened denote that the apartment or home is occupied.

* If you rent a home or apartment perhaps you can tell your landlord that the house will be unoccupied. Your houseowner may want to keep tabs on the home.

* If you have an alarm system active make sure the homesitter is familiar with exactly how to operate it.

* See to it that the house sitter knows how to contact you. The person responsbile for checking into the house must be aware of who they should fill in if there is a problem.
