Doors and windows being worked mean that the home is occupied. * If you rent the apartment let the landlord know that the house will be unoccupied. The houseowner may want to keep tabs on the apartment. * If you use a security system see to it that the the person who is doing the house sitting recognises how to make it work. * Make it a point to see that the house sitter or caretaker can reach you. The person responsbile for checking into the house must know who they should fill in if any issue should come up.
