Home: Security Alarm Systems Projects
Essentials about security alarm systems projectsIs your apartment or home to be unoccupied for a few days or weeks while you go on vacation? That is when the home usually is most vulnerable to being burglarized. Here are several things you can do about it. * The better alternative is to have a house sitter. A house where someone is staying is almost always safer than a home that is not occupied. Check if you can get a relative or a friend to stay at your apartment while you are go away. * Halt the mail delivery and newspaper delivery while you are away. Piles of newspaper lying around lets everyone know that your home is empty. * If you keep a garden arrange for them to be watered and kept well. Alternatively ensure the potted plants are not visible from outside. Dying plants give away that the house is not occupied. * Use timers for radio, tv and lights. Several rooms should have timers on lighting. The lights should turn on an off in a natural manner. At dusk turn on the living room lights. Subsequently put out the lights in your living room and the lightsin the bedroom should switch on. If you generally switch on tv at 7 pm and it stays on till bed time the timer should do the same thing. Though the lights may be switched on the absence of the tv's light shining through can indicate that your house is empty. * Find out if a neighbor will agree to drop into your place often. Windows and curtains being worked signals that the house is not empty. * If you rent the apartment or house tell the owner that the house will be unoccupied. The homeowner may want to check up on the home sometimes. * If you have installed a security system make certain that the person who is house sitting knows how it is to be operated. * See to it that you leave your contact details with the house sitter. The person responsbile for checking into the house must be aware of who they should notify should any problems come up.
