Home: Saturn Alarm Systems
Notes on saturn alarm systemsIs your apartment or home to be unoccupied for a few days or weeks while you take a break out of town? That is when your home tends to be most vulnerable to burglaries. Here are several things to minimize chances of housebreaks. * The best way out is to have a house sitter. Having someone at home is normally safer than an empty apartment. Try to arrange for a relative or a friend to stay at your apartment while you are away. * Discontinue the mail and newspaper when you leave the home unoccupied. A mailbox that is full or newspapers lying around is a sign that your home is empty. * If you have potted plants that are visible get someone to water them. Or Else move the potted plants out of sight. Untended and wilted plants tell potential burglars that the house is uninhabited. * It is a good idea to use timers on lights and tv. Timers should be hooked to lights in multiple rooms. The timings for lights should look natural. At dusk the lights in the living room should be turned on. Subsequently at bedtime put out the lights in your living room and the lights in the bedroom should be switched on. If you turn on tv at 7 pm every day and you keep it on till you turn in the timer should do the same thing. The lights may be on but the absence of the tv can clue in someone that no one is really home. * Request a neighbor to drop in on your home regularly while you are away. Doors and windows being worked is evidence that the house is occupied. * If you live on rent you may want to notify your landlord that the apartment or home will be empty. The homeowner may want to check on the apartment or home regularly. * If you have installed an alarm of protection system make it a point to see that the the person who is doing the house sitting recognizes how to make it run. * See that the neighbor knows how to contact you. Whoever is checking on the home should know who should be informed should a problem arise.
