* If you rent the apartment you might notify the owner that the home will be unoccupied. The homeowner may want to watch over it now and then.
* If you use a perimeter protection or other security system make sure the person who is house sitting is aware of just how to work it.
* Make it a point to see that you leave your contact details with the neighbor. Whoever is watching over the home should be aware of who is to be informed should any issue crop up.
