If you turn tv on at 7 most days and keep it on till 10 the timer should do the same thing. Even if the lights are on the absence of the tv might be sufficient evidence that your house is empty.
* Ask a neighbor to drop into your apartment now and then. Windows being opened and closed etc mean that the house is not empty.
* If you live on rent tell the landlord that you are going on vacation. Your homeowner may want to watch over it now and then.
* If you use a burglar alarm system make certain that the the person who is doing the house sitting is comfortable with precisely how to work it.
* See to it that the neighbor or house sitter can contact you. The person checking on the house should be informed about who they should intimate should any problems come up.
