Home: Lloydminster Home Security
Information about lloydminster home securityIs your house to be left empty for a longish time while you leave town? That is the time your home is most vulnerable to looters breaking in. Here is a bunch of things you can do about it. * The best security for your apartment is to have a someone occupying the house. An apartment where someone is staying is almost always safer than an apartment that is not occupied. Try to arrange for a friend or relative to stay at home at least during the nights when you are traveling. * Halt the newspaper delivery and mail delivery when you leave the home unoccupied. Mail spilling out of the mailbox informs potential thieves that nobody is home. * If you have potted plants passersby can see have them maintained by someone. Or Else ensure the potted plants are not visible from outside. Plants not being taken care of show that nobody is home. * Put the lights and tv on timers. Several rooms should have timers on lighting. Use a natural looking sequence for the lights. At dusk turn on the living room lights. When you normally retire the living room should have lights off and switch on the bedroom lights. If you normally turn on the tv at 7 pm and have it on till bedtime the timer should stick to those times too. The living room light may be on but the lack of light from the tv can clue in someone that no one is actually home. * Arrange for a neighbor to drop into your home now and then. Windows and curtains being worked signals that the home is occupied. * If you rent the apartment or house it is usually a good idea to tell the owner that you will be out of station. The owner may want to check on it. * If you have an alarm system installed make it a point to see that the apartment sitter is comfortable with precisely how to operate it. * See that the house sitter or caretaker can reach you. The person keeping an eye on the house should be aware of who they should fill in if there is a problem.
