Report about link to home security

Is your house going to be unoccupied for even a few days while you and your family travel? That is when your home is open to break ins. Here are several things to do to make your home safer.

* The best defense for your home is to have a keeper or sitter at home. Having someone in is always safer than a deserted home. Try arranging for a relative or friend to live at your house while you are go away.

* Temporarily discontinue mail and newspaper while you are on vacation. Untouched mail and newspaper lets passersby know that the home is empty.

* If you maintain a garden get someone to maintain them. Or remove the potted plants away from sight. Plants dying slowly inform housebreakers that the house is empty.

* Put lights, tv and radio on timers. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. Use a natural looking sequence for lights. The living room lights should come on at sundown. Subsequently the living room lights should go off and the lightsin the bedroom should switch on.

If you usually turn the tv on at 8 pm and it remains on till 11 pm the timer should do the same thing. Though the lights may be on the absence of the tv's light shining through may reveal that the house is uninhabited.

* Request a neighbor to drop in and check on your home frequently. Doors and windows being worked mean that the apartment or home is occupied.

* If you live in a rented home perhaps you can tell your landlord that the house will be unoccupied. Your landlord may want to check on the apartment or home regularly.

* If you use an alarm system make certain that the the person who is doing the house sitting is aware of how to run it.

* See to it that you leave your contact details with the house sitter. The person checking up on the apartment must be well aware of who is to be informed if any issue should come up.
