Home: Intrusion Detection Systems Diagram
Notes on intrusion detection systems diagramIs your home or apartment to be empty for more than a day or two while you take a vacation? That is when it usually is most vulnerable to burglaries and housebreaks. Here are several specific things to help make your home safer. * The best way out is to get someone staying at home. Having someone stay at your home is commonly safer than an unoccupied home. Arrange for a friend to stay at your apartment for the time you are away. * Temporarily discontinue newspaper and mail when you travel out of town. Mail spilling out of the mailbox is a sure sign that your home is empty. * If you have potted plants that are visible have them kept by someone regularly. Otherwise remove the potted plants away from sight. Wilted and dying plants are another sign that the home or apartment is unoccupied. * Use timers to operate lights and tv. Timers should be hooked to lights in multiple rooms. Set the timers to make the light sequence look natural. Living room lights should come on at sundown. Later on the living room lights should be turned off and the bedroom lights should be turned on. If you generally turn tv on at 8 pm most days and you watch it till 11 pm set your timer to that schedule. Though the lights are on the absence of the bluish tv glow may reveal that your house is empty. * Ask a neighbor to drop in and check on your home on a regular basis. Curtains and windows being opened denote that the home is inhabited. * If you rent a home perhaps you can tell your landlord that the apartment will be empty. Your homeowner may want to check on the home now and then. * If you use an alarm system see to it that the home sitter is aware of how to operate it. * Make it a point to see that the neighbor can reach you easily. The person keeping an eye on the house should be informed about who should be informed should a problem arise.
