Tips about intrusion detection semiconductorIs your home going to be empty for some days or weeks while you go on vacation? That is the time your apartment or home is open to burglaries. Here is a bunch of things to minimize chances of housebreaks. * The most advisable solution is to have a someone occupying the house. A house where someone is staying is very likely safer than an empty apartment. Try getting a relative or friend to stay at home at least during the nights for the time you are traveling. * Discontinue the newspaper and mail delivery when the house is empty. Piles of newspaper lying around tells potential burglars that nobody is home. * If you potted plants visibly placed have them watered by someone. Or ensure the potted plants are not visible from outside. Plants wilting slowly tell the observer that the home is untenanted. * Use timers on the lights, radio and tv. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. The lights should be switched on and off in a natural sequence. The lights in the living room should switch on at sunset. Around your normal sleeptime turn off the living room lights and switch on the bedroom lights. If you ordinarily switch on tv at 8 pm everyday and it stays on till bed time have your timer do the same. The lights may be on but the tv being turned off can be a sign that the home is empty. * Find out if a neighbor will agree to drop into your house frequently. Doors and windows being worked are all signs that the home is occupied. * If you live in a rented home maybe you can tell the landlord that you are going away for a few days. The owner may want to watch over it now and then. * If you have installed a burglar alarm see that the apartment sitter is comfortable with how it is to be operated. * Ensure that the house sitter can reach you easily. The person checking up on the apartment must be well aware of who they should fill in should any issue crop up.
