If you turn tv on at 7 most days and have it on till bedtime have the timer set accordingly. Though the lights may be on the absence of light from the tv may lead to suspiscion that this house is unoccupied.
* Request a neighbor to drop in and check on your home on a regular basis. Curtains and windows being opened points out that the house is not empty.
* If you stay at a rented home it may be a good idea to notify the owner that the house will be unoccupied. The houseowner may want to keep tabs on the home.
* If you have an active alarm system make certain that the house sitter knows how it is to be used.
* Make sure you leave your contact details with the house sitter. The person checking up on the apartment must be aware of who they should fill in should any problems come up.
