Home: Home Wireless Network Security Attacks
Notes about home wireless network security attacksIs your house going to be unoccupied for a few days while you go out of station? That is when the house is vulnerable to break ins. Here are several things you can do to make your home less vulnerable. * The best security for your apartment is to have a sitter at home. An apartment where someone is staying is usually safer than a home or apartment that is unoccupied. Try arranging for a relative or a friend to live at your house when you are away. * Temporarily halt newspaper delivery and mail delivery while you are away from home. A full mailbox or newspaper piled up lets everyone know that nobody is home. * If you have potted plants that are visible ask someone to maintain them. Or Else keep the potted plants of of sight. Plants not being cared for show that nobody is home. * Put the lights and tv on timers. Put lights in several rooms on timers. Use a natural looking sequence for the lights. At sunset turn on the living room lights. At the time you turn in the living room lights should be turned off and the lights in the bedroom should be switched on. If you commonly switch on tv at 9 and have it on till bedtime have the timer set accordingly. Though the lights are on the lack of the tv's bluish glow can be a sign that the apartment or home is empty. * See if a neighbor will come in to your home on a regular basis. Windows and curtains being opened and closed indicate that somebody is home. * If you rent the apartment maybe you can tell the landlord that the house will be unoccupied. The owner may want to check on the home now and then. * If you have an alarm system active ensure that the the person who is doing the house sitting recognizes exactly how to operate it. * Make certain that the neighbor or house sitter can contact you. The person keeping an eye on the house must be well aware of who they should notify should any issue crop up.
