Home: Home Security Systems With Monitoring
Report about home security systems with monitoringIs your apartment or home to be unoccupied for more than a day or two while you travel on vacation? That is the time your home is most vulnerable to burglaries and housebreaks. Here is a bunch of things to stop break ins. * The better alternative is to get someone staying at home. Having someone at home is almost always safer than an apartment that is not occupied. Make arrangements for a friend or relative to stay at home at least during the nights while you travel. * Stop your newspaper and mail delivery when the apartment is empty. Mail and newspapers lying around is a sure sign that the house is empty. * If you maintain potted plants that are visible from the road ensure that someone waters them. Otherwise ensure the potted plants are not visible from outside. Plants not being taken care of are another sign that no one is home. * Use timers to operate lights and tv. Use light timers in more than one room. Set the timings of the lights so it looks as if someone is home. At sunset turn on the living room lights. At your regular bedtime the living room lights should be turned off and the lights in the bedroom should be switched on. If you generally switch on tv at 7 pm and it stays on till bed time have the timer set accordingly. The living room light may be on but the absence of the tv may indicate to outsiders that no one is actually home. * See if a neighbor can drop into your apartment now and then. Windows being opened and curtains being worked points out that the home is occupied. * If you live on rent maybe you can tell the landlord that you are going away for a few days. The owner may want to keep tabs on the home. * If you have installed an alarm of protection system make sure the homesitter is aware of just how to use it. * See to it that you leave your contact details with the neighbor. The person keeping an eye on the house must be well aware of who should be informed should a problem arise.
