Report about home security system college thesis projectIs your home or apartment to be empty for many days while you go on tour? That is the time it is open to burglars breaking in. Here is a bunch of things you can do. * The best deterrant is to get someone staying at home. Having someone in is almost always safer than an empty house. Try getting a relative to stay at home while you go on vacation. * Stop the mail and newspaper when you go away. A full mailbox or newspaper piled up is a sign that your home is empty. * If you keep a garden or have potted plants that are visible have them watered by someone. Or ensure that the potted plants are kept where they are not visible. Plants wilting from lack of water convey that the apartment is unoccupied. * Put lights and tv on timers. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. The way the lights are switched on and off should look natural. The living room lights should come on at sundown. Around your normal sleeptime living room should turn dark and turn on the bedroom lights. If you on the tv set at 7 pm most days and have it on till bedtime set the timer accordingly. Though the lights are on the absence of the tv's light shining through can be a sign that no one is actually home. * See if a neighbor will come in to your house frequently. Windows and curtains being opened and closed signals that the apartment or home is occupied. * If you rent an apartment notify the landlord that you are going out of town. Your houseowner may want to keep tabs on the home. * If you have installed an alarm of protection system see to it that the the person who is doing the house sitting recognizes how to handle it. * Make sure you leave your contact details with the neighbor. The person checking up on the apartment should know who they should fill in should there be a problem.
