* Ask a neighbor to drop in on your home now and then. Windows being open now and then gives evidence that the home is occupied.
* If you stay in a rented apartment maybe you can tell the landlord that the home will be unoccupied. Your homeowner may want to keep tabs on the home.
* If you have an alarm system installed see that the the person who is doing the house sitting is aware of how to use it.
* Make certain that the caretaker or house sitter can contact you. Whoever is keeping tabs on the home must be aware of who they should call if there is a problem.
