* If you live in a rented home you might notify the owner that you are going out of town. Your homeowner may want to keep tabs on the apartment.
* If you have an alarm or protection system installed see that the apartment sitter is comfortable with how to operate it.
* Ensure that the neighbor can reach you easily. Whoever is watching over the home must know who they should fill in if there is a problem.
