Home: Hirsch Alarm Systems
Information about hirsch alarm systemsIs your home or apartment to be empty for a longish time while you go out of station? That is when the house is most vulnerable to burglaries. Here are several things to do to deter thieves. * The best defense for your home is to get a home sitter. Having someone in is almost always safer than a home that is not occupied. Try to arrange for a relative or friend to stay at home for the time you are away. * Halt your mail and newspaper delivery when you go on vacation. A full mailbox or newspaper piled up lets passersby know that the house is empty. * If you have potted plants that are visible arrange for them to be kept well. Or Else remove the potted plants away from sight. Wilted and dying plants tell passersby that the home is untenanted. * Use timers for tv and lights. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. Use a natural looking sequence for the lights. The timer should turn living room lights on at sundown. At bedtime put out the lights in your living room and the bedroom lights should be turned on. If you usually turn the tv on at 8 pm and keep in on till 11 pm the timer should stick to those times too. The lights in the house may be on but the absence of the tv might be enough evidence that your house is empty. * Request a neighbor to come in to your apartment on a regular basis. Windows being opened and closed etc mean that the home is occupied. * If you stay in a rented house you may want to notify your landlord that you are going on vacation. Your houseowner may want to keep an eye on it. * If you have installed an alarm of protection system ensure that the homesitter knows how to use it. * Make certain that the house sitter or caretaker can reach you. Whoever is keeping tabs on the home must be well aware of who they should contact if any issue should come up.
