* If you rent an apartment let the landlord know that you are going away for a few days. Your homeowner may want to keep an eye on it.
* If you use an alarm system make sure the homesitter recognizes how to handle it.
* See to it that the house sitter can reach you easily. Whoever is keeping tabs on the home must be aware of who they should call should any issues come up.
