Home: Dummie Security Cameras
Inputs on dummie security camerasIs your home going to be empty for some days or weeks while you go on tour? That is when your home tends to be most vulnerable to housebreaks. Here are several things that will help you. * The best defense for your home is to have a keeper or sitter at home. Having someone stay at home is normally safer than an empty apartment. Try to arrange for a friend to hang out at your home while you are go away. * Halt your newspaper and mail delivery while you are on vacation. Piles of newspaper lying around is a sure sign that no one is home. * If you have potted plants that are visible get someone to water them. Or Else move the potted plants out of sight. Wilted plants tell the observer that the house is empty. * Use timers on the lights, radio and tv. Lights in multiple rooms should be on timers. The way the lights are switched on and off should look natural. At dusk turn on the living room lights. When you normally retire put out the lights in your living room and the lights in your bedroom should turn on. If you on the tv set at 7 pm most days and keep in on till 11 pm the timer must follow those timings. The lights in the house may be on but the lack of light from the tv might be sufficient evidence that no one is really home. * Arrange for a neighbor to drop in and check on your home now and then. Windows and curtains being opened and closed indicate that the home is inhabited. * If you rent the home let the owner know that you are going out of town. The landlord may want to keep tabs on the apartment. * If you have an active alarm system make it a point to see that the house sitter is comfortable with how to make it run. * Ensure that the house sitter can reach you easily. Whoever is keeping tabs on the apartment should be informed about who they should contact should a problem crop up.
