* Arrange for a neighbor to drop in to your house regularly. Curtains and windows being opened denote that the apartment or home is occupied.
* If you live on rent tell the landlord that the home will be unoccupied. Your houseowner may want to check on the home now and then.
* If you use a security system make it a point to see that the house sitter recognizes how it is to be operated.
* See that the neighbor knows how to contact you. The person watching over the house must know who they should intimate if any issue should come up.
