Report on cands security systems

Is your house to be left empty for sometime while you go on tour? That is when it tends to be vulnerable to looters breaking in. Here are several things to do to defend your home.

* The best defense for your home is to get someone staying at home. Having someone at home is very likely safer than an uninhabited home. Arrange for a trusted friend or relative to remain at your home while you travel.

* Stop your mail and newspaper when you travel out of town. A full mailbox or newspaper piled up informs potential thieves that nobody is home.

* If you have potted plants passersby can see arrange for them to be kept well. Otherwise move the potted plants out of sight. Untended and dying plants inform housebreakers that no one is home.

* Put the lights and tv on timers. Use light timers in more than one room. The lights should turn on an off in a natural manner. At dusk turn on the living room lights. At the time you go to bed the lights in the living room should turn off and switch on the bedroom lights.

If you turn tv on at 7 most days and you watch it till 11 pm have your timer do the same. Though the lights may be on the absence of the tv glow may lead to suspiscion that this house is unoccupied.

* See if a neighbor can drop in on your home on a regular basis. Windows and curtains being worked indicate that the apartment or home is occupied.

* If you live in a rented apartment you might notify the owner that the house will be empty. Your landlord may want to check on the home regularly.

* If you have an alarm system active ensure that the person who is house sitting knows just how to use it.

* See that the neighbor knows how to contact you. Whoever is keeping tabs on the apartment should be aware of who they should notify should any issues come up.
