If you ordinarily switch on tv at 8 pm everyday and it stays on till bed time have your timer do the same. Though the lights may be on the absence of light from the tv might indicate that the house is uninhabited.
* Request a neighbor to drop in and check on your home on a regular basis. Doors and windows being worked are signs that somebody is home.
