* See if a neighbor can drop in on your home regularly while you are away. Curtains and windows being opened indicate that the house is occupied.
* If you rent the home you may want to let your landlord know that the apartment or home will be empty. The landlord may want to watch over it now and then.
* If you use an alarm system make sure the the person who is doing the house sitting knows precisely how to work it.
* See that the house sitter or caretaker can reach you. Whoever is watching over the home must be well aware of who they should intimate should there be a problem.
