If you generally turn tv on at 8 pm most days and it is always on till you go to bed have the timer set accordingly. Though the lights may be switched on the lack of light from the tv may lead to suspiscion that the house is uninhabited.
* See if a neighbor will drop into your place often. Windows being open now and then signals that somebody is home.
* If you stay at a rented home you may want to let your landlord know that the apartment or home will be empty. The homeowner may want to check up on the home sometimes.
* If you have installed a burglar alarm make sure the apartment sitter recognises how to run it.
* See to it that you leave your contact details with the house sitter. The person keeping an eye on the house should be informed about who is to be informed should a problem arise.
