* If you rent an apartment notify the landlord that the house will be unoccupied. Your houseowner may want to watch over the house.
* If you have installed an alarm system make it a point to see that the person who is house sitting is comfortable with how to work it.
* See to it that the neighbor knows how to contact you. The person watching over the house must know who they should notify if there is a problem.
